- I am a retired teacher -- having spent 35 1/2 years in the classroom. I taught sixth grade most of the time. In 1975-76 I was an exchange teacher in Barranquilla, Colombia, South America -- 5th grade that year. Over the years I taught every subject, but for the last 20 or so, I taught math and science. I have been married for 33 years and have two wonderful children -- now all grown up! I love being retired. I stay busy with volunteer work and hobbies!
